Kicking Off the New Apprenticeship Year in Hirschberg

Welcome to the team: Three new apprentices began their training as cutting machine operators at CPM Precision at the beginning of September. With their motivation and curiosity, they’re a great addition to our (production) team and are laying the foundation for an exciting, future-proof career in medical technology.

Insights into the Start of the 2025 Apprenticeship Program

The new team members were warmly welcomed to the company on September 1. Their first two weeks had been carefully planned to provide a structured and hands-on introduction to the company and their new roles before the start of vocational school in mid-September. Their first day began in the production hall, where they got to know some machines in our training area. “I think it’s great – I’m really curious to see how everything works,” says Ley enthusiastically.

In the first two weeks, the apprentices gain hands-on experience and a first glimpse of their future tasks. The theoretical part of the apprenticeship begins in the third week, once vocational school starts. After that, they got a theoretical introduction in our training rooms, where they also received their school materials. Each apprentice was given a personal laptop — for keeping a digital training log and supporting their day-to-day learning. With that, they’re well-equipped for a successful start.

Then it was time for lunch — a good opportunity for everyone to get to know each other a little better. For Ley, this is his first apprenticeship – he’s excited to see what he’ll learn over the next few years. Okan, on the other hand, is starting his second apprenticeship: “I completed my first apprenticeship as a painter and varnisher. However, I had to give up the job due to allergic reactions to the paints. Now I’m starting fresh as a cutting machine operator. I’m really looking forward to this new chapter, to learning something completely different – and the team here is really nice.” Heriniaina also joined the team, bringing prior experience in the field: “In Madagascar, I already worked as a cutting machine operator, but without formal training. That’s why I came to Germany last year – to learn the job properly. The opportunities I have here are amazing!”
